MOSAIC is a modular framework for command & control (C2), mission planning and edge autonomy across heterogeneous unmanned systems, sensors effectors and operational assets. It combines a central MOSAIC Hub (C2) with distributed MOSAIC Agents (robot mounted), enabling users to plan, monitor, control and analyze complex missions from a single operational environment.

  • Originally developed for multi-robot operations, MOSAIC supports broader defense and security use cases, including ISR, C-UAS, route clearance, perimeter surveillance and multi-domain mission support.

  • MOSAIC Hub

MOSAIC Hub is the command & control (C2) core of the framework. It provides operators with a unified mission interface for planning, execution and analysis, consolidating data from multiple robots/sensors into a coherent operational picture. It is designed to support both pre-mission preparation and real-time decision-making in dynamic environments.

    Key features

    • Multi-robot mission planning and tasking, including coordinated workflows
    • Real-time situational awareness with geospatial overlays, detections and alerts
    • Sensor data fusion and visualization from heterogeneous sources
    • Robotic fleet, payload and resource management (robots, crews, configurations)
    • Dynamic mission monitoring with re-tasking and operator-in-the-loop control
    • Integration with external C2, BMS, ISR and mission systems
    • Deployment flexibility: cloud, on-premises, or deployable/tactical setups
  • MOSAIC Agents

MOSAIC Agents extend the framework to the field by embedding processing and autonomy capabilities directly at the edge. They enable local decision-making, reduce reliance on continuous connectivity and ensure that critical functions remain operational in contested or degraded environments.

MOSAIC Agents act as integration nodes between sensors, platforms and communication networks, while also hosting autonomy and data processing capabilities close to the source.

    Key features

    • Onboard sensor integration and data pre-processing for multiple payload types
    • Edge AI for detection, classification and local data fusion
    • Support for autonomous behaviors, navigation and assisted operations
    • Resilient communication and data exchange between distributed Agents
    • Operation in GNSS-denied and communication-constrained environments
    • Compatibility with ROS-based and non-ROS platforms
    • Modular integration of sensors such as RGB, thermal, LiDAR, GPR, and EMI
  • Open, Scalable and Mission-Ready

MOSAIC is platform-agnostic and vendor-independent, allowing integration with existing robots, sensors, effectors, mission systems and operational workflows. Its modular architecture supports small tactical deployments as well as larger multi-asset operations.

A key capability of the framework is the generation of geo-referenced threat maps, in particular for explosive hazards and mine detection. By combining data from multiple sensors (UAV-based pre-survey and UGV-based confirmation), MOSAIC fuses detections into consistent heatmaps and layered geospatial products. These maps are continuously refined during the mission, supporting progressive area assessment, prioritization and safer decision-making for follow-on actions.

Separate product sheets are available for MOSAIC Hub and MOSAIC Agents, including technical specifications, deployment options and example use cases.
