  • Flight Systems

    The company specifies, designs and develops specialist and often unique equipment for use in space. It is familiar with bridging the gap between scientists, engineers and managers and has extensive experience with world leading scientific instrumentation.

    The company is familiar with applying stringent safety requirements where the equipment will be used by an astronaut. We are familiar with European and European Space Agency engineering and product assurance standards as well as those from other countries and organisations.

  • Technologies Applications & Research

    We design and develop robotic and mechatronic systems for use in space. These systems are targeted to be used by astronauts within a pressurised environment, in orbit or on planetary surfaces. The division also prepares technology that will enable future missions, such as In Situ Resource Utilisation for transforming lunar regolith into water.

    For example astronaut wearable exoskeleton with haptic feedback to be used to control lunar rovers, agile lunar rover with voltiles sampling and analysis instrumentation.

  • Ground Systems & Software

    Space Applications Services takes responsibility for the complete project life-cycle from establishing customer needs, designing and selecting the most appropriate technology, researching and developing unavailable technology, assembling the best team to implement the project solution, to training the customer to use the solution or even operating the system for the customer.

    For example Spacecraft Ground Segments and Complete Control Centres, Dream Chaser Mission Simulator, Systems for Crisis Response including multi-user wearable devices.

  • Engineering Services

    Space Applications Services has a complete system engineering capability for complex, multi-disciplinary and specialist systems for national and international customers. Our capabilities cover system engineering of payloads, including  specific competences in high temperature material sciences, biology and life sciences, fluid sciences, optical diagnostics, miniaturised equipment.

  • Science Services

    The company can provide an end-to-end science and operations management service for multi-disciplinary, complex, unique, international and high value systems. Ensuring that science roadmaps are established, that optimum use of resources for performing science is made and recording achievements.

     

  • Operations Services

    Space Applications Services provides highly qualified and experienced personnel to prepare for, plan and execute real-time operations in control centres and facilities. The company has more than 25 years experience with both manned and unmanned system and payload operations from design and implementation of control rooms to providing 24/7 support. The company also develops the supporting tools needed for cost effective operations.

  • Training Services

    Space Applications Services ensures that client organisations, client training departments or targeted trainees achieve highly efficient, well-prepared and mission-enabling training. We provide our clients with high-quality, adapted, cost-effective technical training and simulation services, following agreed standards and relying on highly qualified training advisors, designers, developers, instructors and evaluators.

    Space Applications Services supports the integration of complex multi-disciplinary systems requiring highly qualified expert teams to prepare and integrate operations concept, products, data, and coordinate activities prior to the mission, ensuring safety and mission success.
