The Marketing & Business Development Department is responsible for driving revenue generation initiatives that sustains the Company. It manages the development of the Company mission and strategies and provides Departments, Divisions, and Teams with centralised direction for strategic, business, and market planning.

Position

Space Applications Services is seeking a proactive, organised, and detail‑oriented Assistant to support the Marketing & Business Development Department. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth daily operations of the Marketing & Business Development Department.

This role is ideal for someone who is highly organised, communicative, and eager to work in a dynamic, innovation‑driven environment.

This position offers hybrid working arrangements and is a 0.6 FTE role, corresponding to three working days per week.

  • Location: Sint-Stevens-Woluwe (Brussels Area)

  • Start date: At the earliest

Tasks and Responsibilities

Administrative & Operational Support

  • Assist with scheduling meetings, bid‑related workshops, and customer discussions

  • Support the preparation of internal presentations, project sheets, and briefing documents

  • Liaise with support departments (Finance, HR, Legal, Engineering) to collect necessary bid inputs (cost data, team availability, compliance requirements)

  • Manage documentation, filing systems, and version control for proposals, presentations, and marketing materials

  • Maintain and update the company CRM, mailing lists, and contact databases.

 

Business Development Support

  • Support the business development team in tracking opportunities, deadlines, and submission requirements

  • Facilitate bid reviews (kick‑off, red team, gold team) and maintain minutes/actions

  • Assist in preparing proposal packages, capability statements, and Tender/Request for Proposal (RFP) documentation

  • Conduct background research on potential customers, partners, and industry trends

  • Help maintain opportunity pipelines and reporting dashboards.

 

Event Coordination

  • Support planning and logistics for trade shows, conferences, customer visits, and outreach events

  • Coordinate booth materials, promotional items, registrations, and schedules

  • Ensure timely follow‑up after events (lead tracking, documentation, feedback collection).

 

Internal Communication & Collaboration

  • Liaise with cross‑functional teams to gather information for proposals and marketing activities

  • Assist in internal dissemination of marketing and BD updates, announcements, and successes

  • Serve as a central point of coordination for departmental requests.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Administration, Communications, or a related field; or relevant experience supporting proposals or project coordination

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in French or Dutch is an asset

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with CRM tools is a plus

  • Basic understanding of marketing principles; interest in the space/aerospace industry is highly desirable

  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and handle sensitive information with discretion.
