Space Applications Services has been selected by ESA’s Directorate of Human and Robotic Exploration as leader of a team that will compete with others to design a compact plant to demonstrate the manufacture of oxygen on the Moon.
The team will be proposing and proving designs through testing with the aim of developing the technology to build larger plants to produce propellant for spacecraft, air for astronauts, and metallic raw materials for equipment.
