The purpose of “New Space” is to enable those who want to access space to do so in a more profitable and simplified way, and to offer them opportunities for innovation. Space and microgravity can therefore be valuable tools offering scientific and commercial possibilities.
For more than thirty years, we have specialised in the research and development of innovative systems, solutions and products. We provide services to the aerospace and security markets, as well as related industries. The results of these applications contribute to the improvement of our common future.
Space missions bring and will be able to bring multiple possibilities. Drugs and materials impossible to create on Earth are researched in microgravity. Work is also ongoing on developing a radically improved understanding of the behavior of the body, in particular of its aging, and, in about ten years, the establishment of human outposts on the surface of the moon which will gradually become independent and will no longer need to be supported by supply vehicles from Earth. As such, Space Applications Services is also active in the development and testing of systems for extracting and using lunar resources in situ.
Space Applications Services has also chosen to be present in the development of robot manipulators and intelligent mechanisms that can be used to repair spacecraft in orbit, or to assemble a base on the Moon. These technologies can be directly useful for terrestrial applications.
