On Thursday 1st December, the Managing Director – Co-Founder of the Company, Richard Aked, briefly described the heritage and future goals of the company.
Staff from all countries where the company works were present, informing Colleagues of their experience and specialisations as well as sharing lessons learnt. The day ended with Christmas presents and a walking dinner.
On Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd December, the celebrations moved to Pairi Daiza, a unique in Europe animal park and botanical garden located in Brugelette (BE).
The schedule included exploring the 70 hectares (165-acre) park that is home to over 7,000 animals as well as team building activities, relaxing moments around lunch tables and in the park lodges.
Friday evening we moved to the ‘’Château de Seneffe’’ to be greeted at the gates by 18th century guards, Lords and Ladies with chandeliers who escorted us into the ‘’Château’’ to be welcomed by the Marquis and his Lady.
Entertained by the Court of the Marquis we were wined and dined with excellent food from this period. To be sure everybody was an active participant the Marquises’ Ladies and Gentlemen demonstrated a cotillon and then included all of us in their dancing … great fun!

It was a memorable Event and trip back in time, and an apt way to celebrate the Company’s successes.
Somewhat the worse for wear we returned to our rooms at Pairi Daiza and slept soundly, to be awoken by wild animals just in front of the windows of our rooms, for some, tigers, for others walrus and for yet others wolves.
After this weekend, we returned home fully refreshed and invigorated.
Thanks to all Staff for their inspiration and efforts as our technology brings benefits to Earth, helps increasing our presence in Low Earth Orbit, Moon exploration and preparation for Mars mission …
Well done SpaceApps!
