On September 20th, in the frame of the German Aerospace Day, the German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt; DLR) in Cologne, Germany, is opening its doors, offering visitors an opportunity to discover research and applications in aeronautics and space. Located on the Cologne DLR premises, the European Astronaut Center (ESA/EAC) will also showcase astronaut training facilities and related human spaceflight activities.
This year’s event features the ESA Space Village, where Space Applications Services will showcase research and products.
The company performs engineering, operations, research and flight hardware development for the European Astronaut Center and the European Commission’s H2020 programme.
At this occasion, Space Applications Services will exhibit hardware that has or will be used by astronauts in various missions, from underwater (NEEMO mission) to the International Space Station. Visitors will have a chance to experience special operational tools as well as virtual reality systems.
Visitors and press are welcome to visit Space Applications Services stand at tent “11” in the ESA Space Village (121).
